5S IS A SYSTEMATIC IMPROVEMENT APPROACH TO ACHIEVE & SUSTAIN A LEAN WORK CULTURE.
STEP - 1S SORTING
ACTIVITY -
1. SEPARATION OF WANTED & UNWANTED ITEMS.
2.REMOVE UNWANTED ITEMS FROM PRODUCTIVE AREA.
3. MAKE A RED TAG AREA & PUT UNWANTED ITEM THERE.
4. NOW FOCUS ON WANTED ITEMS & MOVE TO STEP 2S.
STEP - 2S SET IN ORDER
ACTIVITY -
1. TAKE WANTED ITEMS & DEFINE PLACE FOR ALL THE ITEMS.
2. MAKE SURE THAT ALL ITEMS SHOULD BE ARRANGE ACCORDING TO THEIR USE / NEED.
3. NOW MOVE TO STEP 3S.
STEP - 3S SHINE
ACTIVITY -
1. CLEAN EACH & EVERYTHING OF THAT AREA.
2. MAKE SURE THAT EVERYTHING SHOULD BE SHINE.
3. SHINE MEANS READY TO USE AT ANY TIME.
4. NOW MOVE TO STEP 4S.
STEP - 4S STANDARD
ACTIVITY -
1. MAKE STANDARD (VISUAL CONTROL) FOR EACH & EVERYTHING.
2.ALL AREA HAVE THEIR UPDATED DISPLAY BOARDS.
3.NOW MOVE TO 5S.
STEP - 5S SELF DISCIPLINE
ACTIVITY -
1. MAINTAIN DAILY CHECK AUDITS BY AREA INCHARGE.
2. WEEKLY / MONTHLY AUDITS BY MANAGEMENT.
3. WEEKLY REVIEW OF 5S SCORE BY MANAGEMENT FOR TIMELY CLOSURES OF ALL NCs.
4. MONTHLY APPRECIATION FOR BEST 5S SCORER BY MANAGEMENT.

we should define proper place for each & everything & always keep them at define place.
